Jesus Christ
We can never emphasize enough that Jesus Christ is the owner and main leader of the Church. He said: I will build My church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it (Matthew 16:18
). Jesus Christ is our Chief Shepherd or Chief Pastor and the Overseer of our souls according to 1Peter 5:4
and 1Peter 2:25
. Therefore, holy brothers and sisters, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, whom we acknowledge as our Apostle and high priest (Hebrews 3:1
). Jesus is our Prophet whom we must all obey, as Peter told us: Moses said in Deuteronomy 18:15
, ‘The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own people; you must listen to everything he tells you. Anyone who does not listen to him will be completely cut off from their people (Acts 3:22-23
).’
Jesus is our Teacher or Rabbi, as He said: “You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am (John 13:13
). You have one Teacher, even Christ, and you are all brothers and sisters (Matthew 23:8
). Jesus is our Evangelist that gathers souls under His protective wings, as it is written: “Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing (Matthew 23:37
). Jesus Christ our Evangelist is the Sun of Righteousness that rises up with healing in His wings according to Malachi 4:2
.
At the House of Prayer for All Nations, Jesus Christ is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; so that in all things he might have the pre-eminence or supremacy (Colossians 1:18
). So when you are looking for the General Overseer of HOPFAN, the Chief Apostle, The Chief Prophet, The Chief Evangelist, The Chief Shepherd or Chief Pastor and the Chief Teacher we will point you to Christ Jesus!
Paul tells us: every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything. “Moses was faithful as a servant in all God’s house,” bearing witness to what would be spoken by God in the future (Hebrews 3:4-5
). And Jesus tells us before ascending: I bestow on you a kingdom, just as My Father bestowed one on Me (Luke 22:29
). Jesus entrusted us with his ministerial gifts, so that we can serve in His House. We believe that the apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers are still for today, none of the ministerial gifts stopped at the end of the first century.
Paul Tells us: when Jesus ascended up on high, truly He gave some to be apostles, and some to be prophets, and some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ. And this until we all come into the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a full-grown man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; so that we no longer may be infants, tossed to and fro and carried about by every wind of doctrine, in the dishonesty of men, in cunning craftiness, to the wiles of deceit (Ephesians 4:11-14
).
