Kelvin Giles

Just an ordinary person, product of an Anglican confirmation, graduated from Maritzburg College in Pietermaritzburg , South Africa in 1963. I pursued sports, ranging from track cycling, to rock climbing and hiking. After marriage I was addicted to marathon running, Comrades marathon etc.

Several years later, my wife Lynn and I went to a little wood and iron country church and I was touched by the Holy Spirit for the first time in my life! We decided to join the Wesleyan Methodist church in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa, where I sung in the choir, but still had no appreciation or understanding of the spiritual power of God. At some point I accepted Jesus after watching the Jesus film shown by the Malihambe mission. In reality I remained a nominal Christian as I still had a lot to learn!

Having moved to the UK and attending a variety of churches, searching for a spiritual home, the devil afflicted Lynn with Meniers disease and deafness. To cut a long story short, this was probably his worst mistake, as it led to her miraculous healing! Both of us spent hours listening to and attending Andrew Womack teaching. I was water baptized in Ipswich, and received the baptism of the Holy Spirit in Coventry. On retirement, I learnt about John G Lake and the application of his teaching. We did a correspondence course at Charis Bible College and DBI at JGLM. We have seen many healed when applying the authority of Jesus Christ.

We usually work together as a powerful team. 

We are now equipping ourselves with a wealth of knowledge and understanding of the value and power of prayer to heal, and set others free. With our involvement in HOPFAN, we move forward rather belatedly, learning in depth about Jesus and the prophets of old. Lynn and I are editing, reading and publishing Gery’s My Weekly milk bible studies, which is indeed a gift and blessing from God!

I was afflicted with many serious sicknesses and diseases during my life and had been to all kinds of ‘healers’ and delved in the occult before I came to know the Lord.

When I was a child I went to Sunday school at a Methodist church, and while sitting in the church watching the choir sing, I was enveloped in the most amazing Light, Love and warmth. I knew it was Jesus and thought everyone would be able to see it, but no one made any comment. That feeling is indescribable. I continued going to church and I thought I was a Christian because I got confirmed, but had never been told to accept Jesus as my Lord. I accepted Jesus when we went to watch a Jesus film one day many years later.

Later in life, afflicted with severe Meniers disease and no longer able to leave the house, I was blessed while searching for teaching on healing, I learned, if you have faith the size of a grain of mustard seed you can speak to your mountain and it would move. It worked, I was healed but was still deaf, so went to a conference in Coventry, was baptized in the Holy Spirit, was set free from the previous occult curses, and my hearing returned 3 weeks later after prayer. Hallelujah. The doctor said it was impossible. But Jesus had other ideas. Thank you Jesus.

At 5 years old, I was electrocuted, by touching uncovered wires on a light switch, the force of the electricity shot me across to the other side of the room and I hit the wall. 60 years later, after I had been healed by Jesus, I had a vision: That same very strong feeling of electricity was flowing through my body, from my head to toe, and I was standing in front of a little old lady with terminal cancer, I had my hands on her shoulders and the surge of electricity poured out of my hands into her and she was healed. Praise the Lord.

When we retired, we did the Charis Bible College correspondence course, but were side tracked to find out more about John G Lake and his healing ministry, and learnt the teachings. We eventually did DBI Bible College course through the ministry. It was at that time that we met Gery, and started to help him with his bible studies. We have been so blessed by doing the studies, have learnt a huge amount and Praise God for His hand in bringing us together. God is using us mightily for His Kingdom and we see many healings and amazing miracles. We have learnt that if you are a believer and forget about yourself, and make Jesus your Lord and are willing, God will use you to further His Kingdom, He is no respecter of persons, so what one person can do, all can do – if you have faith and walk in righteousness. Thank you Jesus.
